World Naked Bike Ride – Byron Bay 2018

  • Well for the second year (last years report HERE  ) in a row I attended the WNBR at Byron Bay on the far North Coast of Australia, for me it’s almost a twelve hour drive….

I again as I did last year live streamed from my bike using an iPhone on a selfie stick, to my Australian Naturist News page but facebook removed 3 out of 4 live streams GRRRRR

The one remaining stream is still up but I’ve uploaded it to YouTube just in case FB deletes it!

Numbers were markedly down this year, which could be put down to the inclement weather as it was raining most of the week in the lead up to the ride but just before the ride at about 1:30PM the weather cleared and the sun came out so we got quite hot while getting body painted, I had the slogan “Can You see Me Now?” painted on my back by Michael the visiting organizer of the Melbourne WNBR and I painted his back with “WNBR Byron Bay And Melbourne”

Then the ride kicked off at 3PM and the crowds of people cheering us seemed a bit less and also subdued compared to last year, which once again I think was due to the weather and it is estimated we had 126 riders and last years was 270, but as I heard a fellow rider say “It’s the quality of the ride that matters, not the quantity of the riders” ie: the warm welcome from the onlookers 🙂

Just as we finished the ride the heavens opened up briefly as if to cool us off after the ride.

All in all it was a well received by the non nude public ride and as per last years ride I saw no negative comments about our nudity, just heaps of smiling faces/cheers and car horns tooting.

So now I must decide whether I will attend next years ride in Byron or head South and attend the Melbourne WNBR???
